Controls Technician

Location: Kalamazoo, MI and Benton Harbor, MI

We are looking for a Controls Technician in the Kalamazoo and Benton Harbor areas of Michigan to support industrial construction projects within Andy J. Egan Company. As a Controls Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial building automation systems. Duties:

Perform startup procedures on building automation controls equipment.
Collaborate with controls engineers to resolve project issues effectively.
Troubleshoot equipment and wiring diagrams to identify and address issues.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and controls submittals.
Follow electrical diagrams accurately to ensure proper installation and operation.
Conduct troubleshooting of HVAC and electrical systems.
Work confidently around 3-phase 480-volt power, 120 VAC, and 24 Volt VAC.
Interact with clients to understand their needs and represent Andy Egan Company professionally.
Modify control programs as necessary to match space conditions for optimal operation.
Install new controllers, actuators, sensors, relays, etc., as required.
Run control wiring when necessary to connect devices.
Communicate effectively with construction managers, customers, and project team members.
Assist with system commissioning and testing, documenting procedures and results.
Support third-party commissioning agents during functional testing.
Complete commissioning sheets for equipment and submit them promptly.
Travel to various locations within the Kalamazoo and Benton Harbor areas to serve customers.
Utilize a laptop and iPad for daily work tasks and documentation.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.
Manage multiple projects concurrently with efficiency and accuracy.

Skills & Experience:

1+ Years Experience in HVAC Controls Maintenance
Experience with Johnson Controls PCT/FEC programming software or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Tridium Niagara AX/N4 or JCI Metasys systems is advantageous.
A working knowledge of BAS engineering software packages is desirable.

Requirements:

Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of HVAC equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Display strong project management, supervision, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Maintain excellent time management and organizational skills.
