Two Promoted within Egan Service Department Following Retirements

Mechanical contractor and fabricator Andy J. Egan Co. (Egan) has promoted two employees within the Service Department to fill positions left open by retirements. Dave Antonowitsch will take over as Egan’s Director of Service and Controls, following Jeff Bechtel’s 18 years in that role. Jeff will maintain a consultant role with Egan through 2023. Grand Rapids Service Manager Jon Dolbee has also retired after 5 years with Egan. His role is being filled by Dylan Pancoast.

Both Dave and Dylan are longtime Egan employees who worked closely with their predecessors to transition to their new roles. “We’re grateful for the leadership and mentorship of both Jeff and Jon as they move toward their well-earned retirements,” says Andy Jasper, Egan’s President. “Dave and Dylan are ready for their new roles, to serve longtime and new customers, and to continue the standards of excellence that the Egan Service Department is known for.”

Dave Antonowitsch, Director of Service and Controls

Dave Antonowitsch brings more than 20 years of industry experience – 15 of them with Egan – to his role as Director of Service and Controls. His involvement in the construction industry dates back even farther. The grandson of German immigrants, Dave grew up watching his dad and grandpa build everything from houses to gas stations at the construction firm they co-owned. At their encouragement, Dave enrolled in the HVAC Technologies program at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where he earned his associates degree. Next, he earned his journeyman license and became a service technician in 1999, joining the Egan team in 2005. As a Senior Service Manager, Dave managed Egan’s industrial service accounts. In his director role, Dave will oversee the managers of all service locations – Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph-Benton Harbor – and the building controls division. When he’s not working with the service team to keep manufacturing plants online, Dave enjoys “big game” fishing across the country, often sharing the experience with his wife and two daughters.

Dylan Pancoast, Grand Rapids Service Manager

An Egan employee of more than 10 years, Dylan Pancoast has been promoted to the role of Grand Rapids Service Manager, where he’ll oversee the 15-20 service specialists that are based at the company’s headquarters. Dylan earned his associates degree in HVAC from Ferris State University, then continued with his pre-apprentice training while working at Egan. After earning his journeyman license, Dylan managed the service agreements for some of the company’s larger accounts and was promoted to a Service Foreman in 2018. Dylan’s combination of field experience and business management skills make him an ideal candidate to serve Egan’s Grand Rapids-area service customers in his new role. In his free time, Dylan has a passion for high-performance vehicles and enjoys spending time in Michigan’s outdoors, regardless of the season.

Through its in-house service department, Egan offers 24/7 repair and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems for commercial, industrial and institutional applications. The company is West Michigan’s only Johnson Controls Authorized Building Controls Specialist, offering building controls solutions and energy monitoring, as well as customized preventative maintenance packages. With more than 30 service specialists and offices in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph-Benton Harbor, Egan serves customers as far north as Traverse City and to the south in northern Indiana.
