Mechanical contractor and fabricator Andy J. Egan Co. (Egan) has opened a St. Joseph-Benton Harbor office to better serve customers in Southwest Michigan. This is the company’s third location, adding to its Grand Rapids headquarters and satellite office in Kalamazoo.

“Egan is a customer-centric, Michigan-based company that dates back to 1919,” says Jeff Bechtel, Director of Service and Controls for Egan. “As we saw our base of established customers grow in the St. Joseph area, it only made sense to invest in the region in order to offer top-notch service to those accounts.”

Bechtel also expects the new office to serve new customers in the region, to improve response times for Egan’s 24/7 service department and to manage small-scale Design-Build construction projects. Egan will continue to offer specialized, turnkey services that include custom HVAC service PM programs, service plumbing, DDC building automation controls, industrial controls, Design-Build engineering with 24/7 support and more. New staff is being added to the office to support these goals. Pete Vassar has joined Egan as a Service Specialist for the southwest region. A veteran of the industry since 1998, he has worked in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor facilities for the past 14 years. Vassar holds his UA Star Certification and was previously with DA Dodd. In late 2015, Egan also hired Troy Boone as the Senior Service and Project Manager for the southwest region.

Kalamazoo Service Manager Dave Antonowitsch will expand his role to include management of the St. Joseph-Benton Harbor office and its new service technicians and project managers. A 20-year veteran of the industry, Antonowitsch joined Egan in 2006 as a Service Technician and was promoted to Service Manager in 2012. He also holds MSCA Green Star Certification and Michigan Plumbing License.
