Safety and Training

Safe, healthy work environments are essential to a successful project. We require properly maintained work areas, tools and equipment and training that goes beyond industry requirements.

In 2010, project managers, superintendents and foremen completed OSHA 30 training. Both field employees and project managers have training and/or certification in:

  • Asbestos and lead awareness
  • Basic first aid/CPR
  • OSHA 10
  • Confined space entry
  • Crane operation (if applicable)
  • Fire control
  • Hi-lo operation (if applicable)
  • Lockout/tag out procedures
  • Manlift operation (if applicable)
  • Scaffold erection

EMR Rating

The Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is a number used by insurance companies to calculate the cost of injuries and the future risk of them. The construction industry average is 1.0 with numbers less than that being above average.
