We are looking for a Controls Engineer/Project Manager to support industrial construction projects within Andy J. Egan Company. Duties:
- Work with the customer and review project specifications, drawings, and project specific documents to establish project intent.
- Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the owner/project team. Identify time sensitive installation needs.
- Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
- Review plans and specifications and participate in project cost reviews.
- Assist Controls Manager in the solicitation and contracting of subcontractors.
- Manage / Quote Project specific change orders.
- Manage the Sub-contractors and control technicians on-site.
- Conduct an orientation for control technicians and provide all necessary project documentation including scope of work, drawings, applicable specifications, application engineered drawings, project contacts, etc.
- Weekly tracking of resource and project progress and posting.
- Document project events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.
- Pursue project specific change order opportunities.
- Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface
- Coordinate and pursue project specific billing with control manager.
- Schedule project specific commissioning resources with control technician and control engineer; and communicate commissioning documentation.
- Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs.
- Expedite the return of project specific mark-ups for As-Built development.
- Complete all project specific close-out documentation. As-builts, customer training, warranty work.
- Promote the sale of add-on work.
- Manage assigned work to meet professional execution, time, and customer satisfaction standards.
- Support the control engineers, service techs and customers with remote supports and control service calls via (VPN, workbench, PCT)
- Support the development of new Control technicians and control engineers.
- Service Request from Service managers (GR, Kzoo, Benton Harbor)
Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC industry applications, ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications, and electrical, network and control wiring diagrams (Required)
- Knowledge of industry standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet (Required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio (Required)
Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC industry applications, ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications, and electrical, network and control wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of industry standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet.
- Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our service technicians, control engineers and customers.
- Travel to Kalamazoo office and Benton Harbor / St Joseph office will be required.
- Travel to the customer site will be required to support all three offices

Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, Day Shift
- 8 Hours/Day
Location: Ability to commute with travel to customer sites and the Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Benton Harbor offices (required)
