Donation Challenge Results

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH., July 11, 2011—The donation challenge (see original news release) between Andy J. Egan Co. and Beene Garter LLP ended on June 30. Together, the companies donated 16,847.5 pounds of goods to Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank (FAWM), which distributes donations to food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, domestic violence shelters, rescue missions, and other charities across West Michigan.

With Egan's donation of 756 pounds of food and $1,264, we won the competition! Beene Garter donated 1,624 pounds of goods and $665. Since $1 lets the food bank buy 7.5 pounds of food, our donation equaled 10,236 pounds while their donation equaled 6,611.5 pounds of food.

Thank you to everyone who donated food and toiletries so Feeding America West Michigan and the organizations and families they serve could be the competition's true winners.
